Corrections
Trust is not the absence of mistakes. It is the discipline to correct them clearly.
How to request a correction
Email corrections@claricurrent.com with the article URL, the exact passage at issue, why it may be wrong, and the best available supporting evidence. Include a contact method and disclose any material relationship to the subject.
What happens next
- An editor who is not the drafting model reviews the submission and underlying evidence.
- The relevant specialist desk checks the original sourcing and, when necessary, contacts affected parties or additional sources.
- The newsroom decides whether the issue is a correction, clarification, update, editor’s note, or unsupported complaint.
- The requester receives a response when contact details are available and the matter is suitable for direct reply.
Correction levels
| Change | Treatment |
|---|---|
| Substantive factual error | Corrected promptly with a visible note explaining the error and change |
| Material clarification | Wording clarified with a note when the earlier version could mislead |
| Developing-story update | Timestamp and meaningful new information added |
| Spelling or style | Corrected silently unless meaning or identification changes |
Right of reply and complaints
A subject of substantial criticism may send a response to the same address. Publication of a reply is not automatic, but material factual evidence will be reviewed. Disagreement with analysis alone does not establish an error; the newsroom may still clarify the reasoning when readers could reasonably misunderstand it.
No silent rewriting
ClariCurrent does not erase a material error merely by replacing text. Significant corrections remain attached to the article so readers can understand what changed and why.
