Privacy policy
A news site should not require unnecessary surveillance to be useful.
Scope
This policy describes data practices for claricurrent.com, including the public publication, contact by email, security logs, the private administrative area, and future analytics or advertising services. It should be read with the Cookie Policy.
Data we may process
- Operational data: IP address, request time, requested URL, device or browser information, and security signals processed by hosting and protection services.
- Messages: email address, message content, attachments, and related correspondence when you contact the newsroom.
- Administrative data: authenticated account information and encrypted provider credentials used inside the owner-only control room.
- Consent and advertising data: choices and identifiers that may be processed if analytics or advertising is activated.
Why data is used
Data may be used to deliver and secure the site, prevent abuse, respond to messages, maintain editorial records, measure performance with appropriate consent, comply with law, and serve advertising when enabled. ClariCurrent does not sell a private news tip as audience data.
Google and third-party advertising
If Google advertising is activated, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to serve and measure ads. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on visits to this and other sites where permitted. Readers can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings and learn how Google uses information from partner sites at Google’s partner-sites policy.
Other certified vendors or ad networks may be disclosed through the consent interface and their own policies. Where required, non-essential advertising or analytics technologies will not be activated until an appropriate choice has been recorded.
Consent in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
Before personalized ads are served in these regions, ClariCurrent intends to use a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the applicable IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. The final controls are configured with the advertising account and are not yet represented as active on this site.
Embedded media and external links
Social or video embeds may contact the platform provider and set their own technologies. ClariCurrent prefers privacy-aware previews and direct links until consent is available. External sites have independent privacy practices.
Retention and security
Data is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose, security, editorial accountability, dispute handling, or legal obligations. Provider secrets are encrypted server-side and are not returned to the browser after storage. No internet system can promise absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive certain personal data, and to withdraw consent. Requests may be sent to privacy@claricurrent.com. Identity may be verified before fulfilling a request.
Children
The service is a general-audience news publication and is not directed to children under the age at which independent consent is permitted in their jurisdiction. ClariCurrent does not knowingly request personal data from children for advertising profiles.
Changes
Material changes will be reflected by the review date and, when appropriate, a prominent notice. This policy is operational information, not individualized legal advice.
